In reply to your letter dated 5th August, I have the honour to inform you that I am willing to go out to Hong Kong to undertake the duties mentioned by you.
As far as I can at present say, I shall be willing to accept the same general terms as those on which I served in the West Indies, namely payment at the rate of £1,000 a year for the time spent
